Now talking about food culture,Kolkata was earlier capital of India at British era.most favourite dish for bengali that is illish fish and rice and even in market you will get varieties of fish species which seems to be very tasty.secondly Kolkata biryani is different from hydrabadi biryani and dum biryani because with rice , mutton or chicken having potatoes also added if I talk about street foods it's a oldest culture of Kolkata such as jhalmudi, aloo chap ,fish cutlet,puchka,egg roll and muglai parota are found in streets of Kolkata. If we don't discuss about sweets of Bengal it's incomplete journey.such as roshogulla,misthi dhoi and saundesh. Some sweet shop I liked most haldiram,samosa of tiwari bros. ,laxmi sweet at mullick bazzar so tasty water is coming in my mouth. Now talking about sarees famously wore by bengali lady . Named as tant saree its traditionally made by weaver's from almost from Bangladesh and Eastern part of India such as west Bengal,tripura,assam Barak Valley tant saree woven from cotton thread with distinguished by its lightness and transparency. It's a comfortable saree for hot and humid climate in Indian subcontinent.
